Prepare for the UnpredictableLAX is undergoing significant modernization and renovations right now, so there may be more traffic than normal on some days. Plan ahead, leave early and visit our real time traffic map before you go.
Where to FlyAway®FlyAway® buses drop you off on the Upper Departure Level and pick you up on the Lower Arrival Level of each terminal. Look for the green "FlyAway, Buses & Long Distance Vans" signs and you'll find each bus marked with its service location. Click for more.
Early Morning RushWhen planning travel, keep in mind that 4 am to 11 am are the busiest hours at LAX.
No Lazy Sundays HereSunday night is the busiest time for arrivals, with 5:30 pm to 1:30 am being peak hours. Plan ahead and visit our real time traffic map before you go.
Go Against The GrainWhen it's crowded on the departures level (mornings), drop your passengers off on the arrivals level. Or, when picking passengers up when it's crowded in the evenings, have them meet you on the departures level.
West Way ShortcutAvoid lower level World Way loop traffic. Take the West Way shortcut on the upper level (a sharp left past Terminal 2) and make a fast right at "to Arrivals," and you'll end up across from the International Terminal.
Quick ExitOn the lower level, take the West Way shortcut just past Terminal 2, then make a left at Center Way to exit the airport.
1, 2, 3 ExitWhen picking up at Terminals 1, 2 or 3, get in the left lane, and when you reach the Tom Bradley International Terminal, make a left on Center Way, then stay to the right and you can exit the airport on the lower level.
Cell Phone Waiting LotLocated off W. 96th Street next to LAX Parking Lot C, it's the perfect place to wait for passengers to arrive or they can meet you there via the "C" Shuttle.
